Welcome to my website!
I'm Zilla Baker, a qualified Pilates instructor, holding a Diploma from the Pilates Institute. This is the highest level of training an instructor can achieve, awarding a CYQ Level 3 qualification and allowing entry on to the Register of Exercise Professionals. I am also continuing my training and working towards Stott Pilates certification - why qualify once when you can do it all over again and learn even more!
For some time now I've been offering group and personal Matwork sessions in the Guildford area. I'm delighted to announce that I now also have my own matwork and equipment studio - the Guildford Pilates Place.
Guildford Pilates Place can be found on the second floor at Field of Fitness, above Ask Restaurant on Chapel Street in Central Guildford. There's not only a full set of small equipment to allow for more variety in Matwork classes, but 6 Balanced Body Allegro Reformers which is the only studio to offer Group Reformer classes in Guildford.
All the Spike Matwork classes will be a maximum of 10 - run in 8 week blocks for £62.40. The classes at Guildford Pilates Place are £80 for 8.
All the Reformer classes are a maximum of 6 Clients so everyone has their own state-of-the-art machine - these will also be run in blocks of 8 for £144.
Private 1-1 sessions are £45 per hour, 1-2 are £55 per hour.

For those unfamiliar with Pilates, it is well known for long being a method used by dancers and athletes to enhance their physical strength and muscular stamina, but it is in recent years that it has become more widely used and recommended by medical professionals as a method to strengthen and mobilise the key postural muscles to aid and relieve:
- Postural problems
- Post-operative rehabilitation
- The pre- and post-natal woman
- Back pain
- Conditioning for sports
- Conditioning for the performing arts (dance and vocal production)
Or, simply just to improve strength in a balanced and mindful way
